The
mouth of the Willapa River courses its way along the shores
of South Bend before turning inland from the Bay. Clams
and Oysters in the Willapa are well known, and South Bend
is famous as the Oyster Capital of the World. One out of
every six oysters consumed in the United States is harvested
in Willapa Bay.
